L'Almanarre offers an extraordinary playground: in fact, its double tombolo makes it possible to vary practices according to the two prevailing winds, the Mistral (west/northwest) and the easterly.
L'Almanarre owes its reputation to its wind statistics, but also to the windsurfers who have written the spot's history: Erik Thiémé and Pascal Boulanger.
When the wind is westerly [Mistral], there are plenty of top-level windsurfers and kite surfers. Depending on the strength of the wind, the sea can be rough and wild. With an easterly wind, the beach is protected and the calm that reigns lets you discover the colors of a water that makes you dream.
A large parking lot is available in summer at the Almanarre roundabout, and several others are located on the Route du Sel.
