Every island, real or imaginary, appears to be steeped in terrifying and marvelous legends, the repository of a treasure carefully hidden in its bowels or at the bottom of a cave with a concealed entrance.
Cap Garonne behind the pointe du bau rouge resembles this island with its treasure.
A treasure made up of fragments containing gold hidden at the bottom of a gallery in a wild part of the coastline.
Fable, myth, legend or reality? Historical research carried out by the Musée de la Mine will attempt to answer these questions.

The originality of the museum is undoubtedly the lively nature of its visit, where you can experience life underground as the miners of yesteryear knew it,
The museum's greatest asset is its collection of over 600 minerals from around the world and 140 micro-minerals, including 14 discovered at Cap Garonne,
But also the extraction of copper ore and its transformation, the museum lets you discover how man has used copper over time with an exhibition of objects.
The Museum also boasts a remarkable setting, with panoramic views of the Toulon harbor, the flower-filled terraces of Carqueiranne, its hiking and discovery trails and its proximity to the sea.
