Presentation

The hotel is currently under construction. A reopening is planned for the summer of 2025.

The Provençal is a true haven of serenity, combining tradition and modernity, offering a unique setting to relax and enjoy the unspoilt environment of the Giens peninsula.

The 3-star Hotel le Provencal offers 41 rooms with panoramic views of the sea, a tropical garden or the village. Open from April to October. It has a reading and TV room, two modular meeting rooms for seminars, and outdoor areas for banquets.

The Provençal is a historic establishment on the peninsula of Giens. The hotel was created in 1951 by Marius Michel, Varois, emblematic chef of the Lido in Paris, who, after having bought the small hotel with 15 rooms with brasserie-bar-tabac, located in the heart of the village of Giens, built a hotel with 41 rooms offering an exceptional view of the islands of Hyères.

He will then buy three plots constituting a magnificent park of two hectares going down to the sea. It houses the historic home of Louis Renault, who was also a children’s care institute. Marius Michel entrusted the management of the hotel to his sister-in-law before his daughter, Claude, took over the management in 1978, joined by her husband Jean-Paul Piffet, a pastry chef in Paris. It continued to develop and modernize the facility, which it opened up to local life and built two new houses.

In 2012, Claude’s sons, Benjamin and Damien, took over the hotel.

Over the last few years, they have collaborated with a Parisian designer to completely renovate the hotel, combining clean design and elegance. This renovation is also accompanied by a redesign of the restaurant menus and a strengthening of links with the local fabric. The hotel and its two restaurants (La Brasserie and Le Rascasse) are under construction until summer 2025. The places will keep their Provencal charm and family atmosphere, while integrating new equipment combining modern comfort and authenticity. The goal is to offer an ever more pleasant experience, while respecting the soul of Provence and its history.

Today, Le Provençal is not only a prestigious hotel in the heart of an exceptional setting, but it is also a residence, several restaurants and a 2-hectare park (with a swimming pool, private beach, tennis court and petanque).
