Created in the 19th century by Toulon sailors, this 15,000m² garden in the heart of the Las valley is home to exotic plants from the Orient, Oceania and America. At the entrance, the garden's layout is very classical, becoming more freely organized as you approach the river, with a large meadow in particular.
Come and discover the rock garden, the fossil garden, the greenhouse, the Atlas cedar, the balcony above the Las river, the insect garden and the rural garden. Outdoor games and water features will keep your children entertained.
Since 2011, the pretty park house has been home to the Toulon and Var Natural History Museum.
Please note: the garden may exceptionally be closed in high winds or heavy rain.
Sustainable tourism
The former Burnett Park, transformed into an agricultural estate in the 20th century, is now part of Toulon's essential natural heritage.
Owned by the département for over 30 years, the Jardin du Las now bears the name of the coastal river that borders the estate.
Major redevelopment work has restructured the site into several plots, to make the most of the numerous Mediterranean and exotic species. As for the former manor house, it has been refurbished to house the Toulon and Var Museum of Natural History.
The path, punctuated by educational panels, leads to a vast meadow dominated by a majestic cedar tree, much admired by all visitors.
