Presentation
This picturesque village is situated at the heart of a fertile terroir, irrigated by the river Nartuby, which tumbles down from a dizzy height of 22 metres from the "Saut du Capelan" waterfall.
La Motte is literally laden with history. A plaque on the town hall commemorates the Allied Landings in Provence: La Motte was the first village in Provence liberated by the Allied Forces.
The clock tower, set overlooking the village, is visible from the main square and offers an agreeable walk. The views over the surrounding countryside from the tower are very pretty - unless you prefer having a rest on a bench with the locals!
