Théodora Lecrinier exhibits her ceramics at the Lavoir Vasserot in Saint-Tropez.
After 15 years in England, ceramist Théodora Lecrinier has returned to her roots in the Var, in La Garde-Freinet.
Since 2021, she has been working from L'Écrin, a family-run studio-gallery in the heart of the village. From 3 to 9 April, she will be presenting a new collection of her creations at the Lavoir Vasserot in Saint-Tropez.
Théodora Lecrinier is an artist with a passion for materials and traditional techniques. Her decorative objects in grog stoneware are mainly coiled. This method, which involves superimposing small rolls of clay, gives her great freedom in creating shapes and volumes. Her work is characterised by precise sculptural shaping, in which each tool leaves its mark. The resulting indents hold the glaze, giving rise to deep, intense shades of colour.
Ash glazing is at the heart of her artistic approach. Fascinated by this process, Théodora explores the infinite possibilities of mixing ash and oxides with curiosity and experimentation. This approach, deeply linked to the natural world around her, enables her to reveal the organic richness of her surroundings.
This exhibition at the Lavoir Vasserot is an opportunity for the public to discover Théodora Lecrinier's new collection and her artistic research.
