Presentation
Housed in the Grand Hôtel, a Second Empire building in the heart of Toulon, a cinema has given way to the Liberté. After more than seven years of technical challenges and construction work, the project by architect Jean-Louis Duchier and the Fabre et Perrottet firm saw the light of day in September 2011, thanks to funding and support from the Toulon Provence Méditerranée metropolitan area, the French State, the Region and the Département. It was awarded the Scène Nationale label at the end of 2015. Le Liberté is a cultural venue with a multidisciplinary program focused on the Mediterranean: a place for creation, encounters, a crossroads between disciplines, cultures and populations, a place for interaction, a bridge between the different shores of the Mediterranean.
Salle Albert Camus
The Liberté's largest auditorium, named Albert Camus in honor of the great Mediterranean writer, can accommodate theater, dance, circus, concerts, conferences and cinema. It seats 701.
Salle Fanny Ardant
Inaugurated by Fanny Ardant reading Marguerite Duras, this small 165m2 theater is dedicated to lighter technical shows and performances. The 115-seat auditorium is equipped with removable bleachers, enabling it to be used in a variety of configurations.
Salle Daniel Toscan du Plantier
The 132-seat Salle Daniel Toscan du Plantier, named after the famous producer and promoter of French cinema, hosts film screenings and conferences.
Hall du Liberté
The Hall du Liberté is an exhibition space (photos, videos, installations...), a place for information and relaxation, open to all and with free access.
A piano is available for budding musicians. You can also take a break on the deckchairs set up outside. In partnership with Villa Noailles, the relaxation area has been refurbished in 2019 by interior architects Kim Haddou and Florent Dufourcq, winners of the Design Parade - Toulon 2018.

The Bar du Liberté is open on performance days, one hour before the start of the show and afterwards. The team also offers light catering, with local and seasonal products in partnership with Spok.
Le Liberté is a signatory to the Var Fair Trade Charter, whose aim is to promote the principles and products of fair trade.
