Le Luc has a fascinating history. It became a feudal seigneurerie (lordship) in the early 11th century. Protestants were free to worship here in the 17th century and it was a reputed spa town in the early 20th century! Visitors to Le Luc are constantly reminded of the rich and, at times, tumultuous track record that has shaped its character.
In addition to its pretty fountains, 15th-16th century church and hexagonal tower, the village is home to major remains of Roman villas. The Fouirette oppidum (settlement) is one of the largest in Le Var.
