The association Vivre à Porquerolles organizes the Calendales at the Villa du Commandant at 3 pm.
On the program:
Storytelling, children's bingo and afternoon tea.
In Provence, Christmas celebrations begin on December 4 and end on February 2. This is the Calendale period.
It all starts with the wheat harvest on Saint Barbara's day. Then we prepare the crib. On the 23rd and 24th, the petouze is caught and the shepherds prepare the pastrage, which takes place on the evening of the 24th. The mistress of the house is in charge of preparing the big supper, the 13 desserts and the Christmas meal. The elder takes care of the cacho-fio. Then we prepare for New Year's Day, and from January 6 onwards we put the Three Wise Men in the crib and pull the kings with our famous and delicious cakes. And it all ends on February 2 for Chandeleur with pancakes and navettes.
