Pontevès is perched on a rocky spur jutting out from the Petit Bessillon, between the Argens and Verdon rivers. It stands guard over a vast plain irrigated by the river Fauvery and offers expansive views over the surrounding hill chains.
Set way off the beaten track, this history-packed village was the former stronghold of the Marquis de Pontevès. Its houses are grouped around the ruined Pontevès castle.
