The village lies at the foot of the Espiguières mountain, in a lush setting of pine, oak and olive trees.
From its past, this "Village de Caractère" has preserved the remains of fortifications, picturesque old streets dotted with wash-houses, fountains, sundials and a superb collegiate church.
Situated at the entrance to the Haut-Var Verdon region and its truffle fields, Aups is the black truffle capital of the Var. Every Thursday in winter, the truffle market is held in the village square.
