You all know the little "ville fleurie" sign at the entrance to towns and villages. The towns and villages in bloom competition rewards local authorities for the flowers they put in their public spaces. The Var's Mediterranean climate allows the many species of flowers, trees and shrubs to bloom and develop, so come and admire them.

Each year, exceptional prizes known as the Fleur d'Or are awarded on the merits of the commitments made. Four prizes have been awarded in the Var
- Bormes-les-Mimosas: more than 700 species of flowers can be found throughout the town, earning it numerous awards.
- Hyères: 3 exceptional botanical gardens and a host of green spaces. The town has also been awarded the title of French capital of cut flowers thanks to its events and professional training.
- Le Lavandou: Every year, the Corso Fleuri takes place, a parade of multicoloured floats covered in a multitude of flowers, accompanied by street dances and shows.
- Sanary-sur-Mer: Awarded the 4th Flower for over 15 years, the town is heavily involved in promoting its natural heritage and biodiversity. Take the opportunity to visit the olive garden, which boasts 500 trees and around a hundred varieties of olive.
