What to do all year round in Le Var
Because it’s not all about summer! If you want to get the most out of our magnificent department and its riches during the summer months, then June, September and October are the best months to visit, but the Var is well worth a visit all year round.

Choose spring to take advantage of sites such as the Verdon, Port-Cros and Porquerolles or the Abbaye du Thoronet before the summer crowds arrive.
In summer, you can enjoy the sun, the cicadas, the scents of the garrigue and savour the joys of water sports and the great outdoors.
Autumn arrives with its magnificent colours in the vineyards and oak forests. It's the time of the chestnut festivals and the perfect time for some great hiking.
When winter comes, here in Provence the light is unparalleled and the sky a brilliant azure blue. We love Christmas and its pastorals. The black truffle, the mimosa, the flower-filled corsos and the hilltop villages that seem to be peacefully awaiting the return of spring.
