For a family bike ride and a breath of fresh sea air, pedal along the coastal cycle route from Toulon to Le Lavandou!
The coastal cycle route, the future voie 65 (V65), of which almost 100 kilometres have already been laid out as cycle paths in the Var, follows the old Provence railway line.
The route takes in some exceptional scenery, with wooded hills, vineyards, salt marshes and sandy beaches. The section between Toulon and Le Lavandou - Pramousquier, some forty kilometres long, is ideal for family outings. This part of the coastal cycle route offers some great escapes: crossing Toulon town centre through its narrow streets (often pedestrianised), the Tour Royale with its superb panorama of the Toulon harbour, the archaeological site of Olbia, the Giens peninsula and its double tombolo, the Pesquiers salt marshes and Port Pothuau in Hyères, the Trapan dam in Bormes, the beaches of Lavandou... All in all, a great way to get away from it all!
