Santiago de Compostela walk

The Var offers a wide range of walks, each more beautiful than the last. The Santiago de Compostela route, probably the least well-known of the roads leading to Santiago de Compostela, passes through an exceptional natural and cultural heritage of forests and vineyards.

From the Estérel massif to the Roquebrune rock, from the unmissable Thoronet abbey to the majestic basilica of Saint-Maximin, from Fréjus, designated a Town of Art and History, to charming villages such as Lorgues, Bras or Ollières... You'll be crossing the Var from east to west, so keep your eyes wide open!
The route is set out as a long-distance footpath, the GR®653A, which runs from Menton to Arles. Its proximity to major towns and transport links, with stations at Fréjus, Saint-Raphaël and Les Arcs-sur-Argens, makes it easy to get to for a short break or to walk the whole route. Whether you're motivated by faith, a passion for architecture or history, or simply the need to recharge your batteries and find yourself during a period of retreat/confinement, you'll enjoy an unforgettable walk, in the spirit of Saint-Jacques.
