Whether you’re an inquisitive tourist or a local looking for something new to discover, the Var offers a multitude of water-based activities. There’s no shortage of leisure centres and water parks to enjoy with family and friends.
Although water parks and leisure centres are synonymous with fun, it is important to differentiate between them. Water parks focus mainly on water attractions such as slides, wave pools and artificial rivers. Their main purpose is to provide water-based entertainment. The best known are the parks in the Aqualand chain, located in Fréjus, Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer and Sainte-Maxime. The latter offers a wider range of recreational activities (cycling, fishing, tennis, etc.) and is often located in a larger area such as lakes, forests or green spaces. A leisure centre often includes both land-based and water-based activities.
Wherever the festivities take place, there will be plenty of entertainment and fun to be had. Whether you opt for a stroll, a beach day or a picnic with your friends and family, each location offers its own enriching activities. Variety and fun in all 4 corners of the Var!
More numerous and more varied than the water parks, they are - most of the time - more affordable. From Hyères to Puget-sur-Argens, via the banks of the Argens, these places provide thrills for the bravest and relaxation in an exceptional natural setting.

All three are members of the Réseau Destination Le Var. Here, escape rhymes with boating and contemplation: lakes, rivers and the Grande Bleue are open to visitors rowing, paddling, kayaking..
